Jeff Probst Survives Emmy Award By Winning One

Jeff Probst, the guy who put off the torch in the popular reality TV show, "Survivor" has won the first Emmy for the category for Outstanding Host For a Reality or Reality-Competition, beating the likes of Ryan Seacrest (American Idol), Heidi Klum (Project Runway), Tom Bergeron (Dancing with the Stars) and Howie Mandel (Deal or No Deal).

Despite having Survivor on air since year 2000, The Amazing Race has been dominating the "Outstanding Reality-Competition Program" as it has won sixth time in a row since the category was created in 2003. Jeff Probst finally won an Emmy, thanks to the newly-created "Outstanding Host For a Reality or Reality-Competition" for his outstanding performance as a host in Survivor. What’s even greater is, he beats Ryan Seacrest to show the world who is the real survivor.

“Survivor: Cook Islands,” which premieres at 8 p.m. Thursday on CBS, has received a lot of attention since last month’s announcement that the 20 contestants would be divided along racial lines into four tribes: black, white, Hispanic and Asian.
