Dixie Chicks received five GRAMMYs while Red Hot Chili Peppers got only four and Mary J. Blige took home three. Dixie Chicks received the Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal GRAMMY Awards. Meanwhile, Mary J. Blige won the Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song and Best R&B Album. Rock band, Red Hot Chili Peppers swept the awards for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal, Best Rock Song, Best Rock Album and Best Boxed Or Special Limited Edition Package!
The 49th Annual GRAMMY Awards contained mixes of sounds from legendary artists as well as new faces made the an event that was full of surprises. Former American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood took home the New Artist GRAMMY, beating the likes of the more popular James Blunt and Chris Brown. Some of the performers of the night include The Police, Christina Aguilera, Shakira, Beyonce, Smokey Robinson, Lionel Richie and Justin Timberlake.
