The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is the second film in The Chronicles of Narnia film series starring Ben Barnes as Prince Caspian.

Prince Caspian, the Pevensies and Trumpkin
Prince Caspian (Ben Barnes) is wakened by his professor who explains to him that his aunt has given birth to a son. Caspian has to escape because Lord Miraz (Sergio Castellitto) has a newborn son who will be the next heir if Miraz kills Caspian. Caspian is told to head for the woods with the Telmarine soldiers follow despite the initial reluctancy. He meets the Narnian dwarves and blows the magic horn only to have Nikabrik, the black dwarf knocks him out. However, the other dwarf, Trumpkin is captured by the Telmarine soldiers.
1,300 years have passed since the Pevensies were rulers of Narnia when the four of them, Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy are pulled back to Narnia when Prince Caspian blows Susan’s ivory horn. They manage to save Trumpkin who is thrown by the Telmarine soldiers into the sea. Trumpkin and the Pevensies eventually find Prince Caspian.
Caspian and Peter have different ideas on attacking Miraz’s armies. Peter suggests to attack Miraz at the castle which Caspian thinks is absurd. But, they go on anyway, without Aslan. The Narnians attempt to capture Miraz at the castle at night and are doing fine until the archers are alerted. Asterius (Shane Rangi), the great minotaur sacrifices himself by keeping the gates open with his great strength but only half of the Narnians are able to escape leaving the rest brutally slaughtered when the gate goes down crushing Asterius.
Back in Narnia, Peter blames Caspian for wasting too much time trying to kill Miraz in his bedroom. Nikabrik manages to lure Caspian into a cave to meet his two friends, a hag and a wer-wolf who attempt to summon the White Witch who wants just a drop of Caspian’s blood. Fortunately, Peter, Susan and Edmund show up and Edmund shatters the ice where the witch is before she can get her wish.
As the Telmarine armies march nearer towards Narnia, Peter suggests to have a one on one dual with Miraz in order to delay the marching while Lucy rides off quietly to find Aslan. Peter manages to defeat Miraz but he lets Prince Caspian to finish Miraz off only to have Caspian lets Miraz go with the promise to give back Narnia to the Narnians.
In a dark twist, Lord Sopespian (Damián Alcázar) finishes off Miraz and blame the Narnian archers who betray them to start off a war. The Narnians try all sort of ways including destroying pillars in the underground tunnels when the Telmarine calvaries march towards them, swooping over the Telmarine soldiers using archers on Gryphons, but eventually have to retreat.
Luckily, Lucy has found Aslan who awakens the trees who have been in a deep slumber with his powerful roar. With the trees helping the Narnians, the Telmarine soldiers has to retreat back to the castle only to have Lucy standing on the opposite side of the bridge with Aslan. When Sopespian calls for the Telmarine soldiers to charge to the other side, Aslan roars to bring the River God to life who destroys the bridge and wipes out the Telmarine soldiers.
Overall, the movie is far more superior than its predecessor with better special effects, greater actings despite the darker scenes and superb cinematography. The movie is also surprisingly hilarious with adorable characters such as Reepicheep, a swashbuckling mouse and Trumpkin, the cynical red dwarf.
My ratings: 8 out of 10. Definitely, one of the must-watch movies in 2008.
