Nike opens its flagship store in Pavilion KL on Level 5 recently and guess how they promote their store?
They hired a few youngsters that acts like mannequin, though some of them are less professional than the mimes artistes seen at Pavilion earlier.

Nike is promoting their store in the main door of Pavilion, just outside Coach.

Some of them really look like mannequins! Don’t be fool though, they are real humans!

Wearing full Nike apparels, I wonder if they get to keep them afterwards?

The mannequins, um, mimes change their positions once every few minutes

How much do you think they are paid for standing like this all day?

Just barely a week after Pavilion KL was opened, The Gardens Shopping Gallery at Mid Valley opens its door to the public on September 26, 2007. Just like Pavilion KL, The Gardens is not even fully completed with most of its shops still under renovation.

As mention in the previous post about The Gardens, most of its shops are similar to what Pavilion has. The only exception are the anchor tenants - The Gardens has Robinsons and Isetans and a Roof Garden restaurant! Others include The Big Apple (donut shop), Marketplace by Cold Storage and many local designer brands such as Key Ng, Villiam Ooi, Donna C and more.
One ironic observation is that there is a shop that coincidentally named “Pavilion” inside The Gardens Shopping Gallery. Pure coincident or a smart marketing gimnick?

When completed, the Pavilion will be linking to Bukit Bintang and KLCC with its pedestrian bridges.
Meanwhile, Gourmet Emporium reminds me of Siam Paragon’s Gourmet Market and the restaurants on the same level - restaurants, mostly fast food, surrounding an upscale food court. We shall see when it’s fully opened. For now, let’s get the two dozen donuts from J.CO Donuts & Coffee for only MYR 34++ (saving you about MYR 20++) while stock last.
