Many of us know movies that are based on books and novels or computer games are usually boring unless a little twist is added to the film. Films like Hitman and Beowulf have no storyline, thus, the entire film is based on the cinematography. Therefore, in The Forbidden Kingdom, don’t expect the tale of the Monkey King to be anywhere near the actual story.

This movie reminds me of The Myth and how horrible The Myth was with different races and culture blend together in that movie, the storyline and cinematography somehow fail to entertain. Hopefully The Forbidden Kingdom prevails the only bad “Jackie Chan” movie that I have watched.

Yahoo has recently released 6 posters of The Forbidden Kingdom displaying all the main actors in the posters. One particular poster which I like very much is Li Bing Bing with her white hair almost looks like its coated with gold as the lights shine from behind.

The Wicker Man is a cult British film combining thriller, horror and musical. The new film differs from the original with Nicolas Cage playing officer “Edward Malus”, and even Lord Summerisle has been replaced with Sister Summerisle, played by Ellyn Burstyn. Also starring Kate Beahan and Leelee Sobieski.

The Wicker Man is inspired by legends that the druids burned human sacrifices in a giant effigy or cage of wicker. The legend is offered in Julius Caesar’s Gallic wars: “Others have effigies of great size interwoven with twigs, the limbs of which are filled up with living people which are set fire from below, and the people are deprived of life surrounded by flames. It is judged that the punishment of those who participated in theft or briganage or other crimes are more pleasing to the immortal gods; but when the supplies of this kind fail, they even go so low as to inflict punishment on the innnocent”

It has been aruged that there is no other evidence for this practice, neither artifactually nor written record.
