Inglourious Basterds is Quentin Tarantino’s latest action adventure film. In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as “The Basterds” are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by the soldiers. Starring Brad Pitt, Samuel L. Jackson, Diane Kruger, Cloris Leachman, Mike Myers, Inglourious Basterds will be released on August 21, 2009.
Though the movie is partially funny, most of the jokes are satirical — the movie relies mostly on mindless crotch humor and midget jokes. Verne Troyer (who played Mini-Me in Austin Powers movies) plays Punch Cherkov, the coach of Toronto Maple Leafs. When you put the entire movie casts together, you get a movie that’s full of crap. But, at least, it is still better than Disaster Movie, which has like 0% rating at Rotten Tomatoes.
Overall, Mike Myers is still a great comedian, he just needs a better script. A spiritual, self-help guru is like a character totally opposite him. The Love Guru is still watchable if you have nothing better to do.
The Love Guru, Pitka (Mike Meyers) is an American raised outside of his country by gurus, returns to the States in order to break into the self-help business.
