Michael Jackson’s This Is It is a concert film documenting Michael Jackson’s rehearsals of the concert series of the same name. The concert which was scheduled to start on July 13, 2009 was abruptly cancelled because of his death on June 25, 2009. The film shows Jackson mentoring his team, creating, developing, directing and staging the performances.
Directed by Kenny Ortega, the film features 24 songs from his albums. The film starts with a small introduction text followed by audition for dancers and rehearsals of songs and dance choreography. The highlight of the film includes the remake of “Thriller” 3D version, amazing high-tech stage set ups, duet rehearsal with Judith Hill for “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” and lots of special effects and something we have never seen before.
The movie ends with “This Is It” and “Heal the World” during the credits. Some notable songs weren’t featured include “You Are Not Alone”, “Remember The Time” and “Ben”.
Overall, from a neutral perspective, the film is well produced with superior sound editing, great cinematography combining different angles of the rehearsal footage. As a fan, we get to see the making of what would be the best concert of the century if “This Is It” were to be shown “Live”. Michael Jackson’s a perfectionist, a great singer, a superb dancer, a well-respected director, a mastermind and most of all, a loving soul.
This Is It also known as Michael Jackson’s This Is It is a movie based on the rehearsal of Michael Jackson’s This Is It concert. Starring Michael Jackson himself, This Is It opens on October 28, 2009.

According to The Associated Press , Michael Jackson’s death was a homicide through the finding from the LA County coroner which could mean criminal charges for his doctor. Dr. Conrad Murray for administering a mix of powerful drugs to treat the pop star’s insomnia hours before his death.
The homicide ruling was based on forensic tests that found the anesthetic propofol combined with at least two sedatives to kill Jackson, an unnamed law enforcement official .
The ruling does not necessarily mean a crime was committed. But the finding does help prosecutors if they decide to file criminal charges against Dr. Conrad Murray who was caring for Jackson when he died June 25 in his rented Los Angeles mansion.
