The 3G iPhone was officially announced by Steve Jobs during the WWDC keynote that it will be available on July 11 in 22 countries with the black 8GB going for $199 and 16GB for $299 (in black or white).

The new features include maps with GPS, innovative application available for downloads, support for Microsoft Exchange, and of course, video calls and much faster speed with 3G.

iPhone 3G will be out in the following countries on July 11: Australia, Austria, Belgium (French), Belgium (Dutch), Canada (English), Canada (French), Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland (French), Switzerland (German), UK and USA.

The following countries will get the phone by end of the year: Argentina, Botswana, Brazil, Cameroon, C. African Republic, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Estonia, Guatemala, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Greece, Honduras, Hungary, India, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Jordan, Kenya, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Macau, Madagascar, Mali, Malta, Mauritius, Nicaragua, Niger, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Senegal, Singapore, Qatar, Slovakia, South Africa, Turkey and Uruguay.

Depressingly, Malaysia is not on the list.

Apple has signed several new deals to bring iPhone to Asia. The latest licenses to sell the iPhone have been granted to SingTel in Singapore, Bharti Airtel in India, Globe Telecom in the Philippines and Optus in Australia.

Sadly, Malaysia is not in the list just yet.

After giving the impression that they are waiting for the Christmas period, Apple finally decided to announce the iPhone launch in the UK and the company set the release date for November 9.

As Financial Times previously reported, the Apple partner in UK was confirmed today as Spain’s Telefonica owned O2.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with O2 to offer our revolutionary iPhone to UK customers,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO during the news conference held in London. “US iPhone customer satisfaction is off the charts, and we can’t wait to let UK customers get their hands on it and learn what they think of it.”

The 8GB version of the iPhone will be purchased in O2, Carphone Warehouse and Apple stores for 269 pounds (387 euros, 536 dollars) including VAT.

“Price difference with the US is mostly VAT (value added tax), and a little part of it the due to the cost of doing business being higher here,” Jobs explained.

Customers will have to sign an 18-month contract with O2, paying 35, 45 or 55 pounds a month, but they will have unlimited mobile data usage and unlimited use of 7,500 public Wi-Fi wireless Internet connections in cafes, restaurants, airport lounges and other locations across the UK operated by The Cloud.
