Kitaro will be performing in Malaysia at Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands for two consecutive nights! Free your date on November 30 or December 1, as this supreme intrumentalist is coming to town!
Kitaro whose real name is Masanori Takahashi, is a very popular composer and multi-instrumentalist from Japan. He never had any formal education in music. During his teenage years, he learnt to play the electric guitar by himself. Inspired by American R&B, he formed ‘The Far East Family Band’ and released two progressive rock albums. Later, during a tour to Europe in 1972, he was introduced to synthesis music and was fascinated by it. He then bought his first synthesizer and began experimenting with a rainbow of unconventional sounds.
His unique fusion of electronic artistry, traditional Japanese forms, and pop-inflected Western idioms created a rich, harmonic, and poetic sound that won the legendary artist a huge international following. Kitaro has won a Golden Globe Award for Outstanding Soundtrack on the movie ‘Heaven and Earth’, and a Grammy Award for ‘Thinking of You’.

Sammi Cheng returns to sizzle the audience with more action, popular hits and superb showmanship for 2 evenings in Genting. What marked Sammi from the crowded Cantopop scene in the early 90’s was her fast and catchy upbeat songs which propelled her into stardom. She also underwent a complete 180 degree image transformation in 1993, which fitted perfectly with her then new single, a remake of a fast-beat Japanese song.
Tickets price from MYR 80 to MYR 390 with special discounts for Maxis One Club and Genting World Card members.
