Lady Gaga Tops Forbes Celebrity 100 List for 2011

Lady Gaga tops Forbes annual Celebrity 100 list — which list the top 100 most powerful people in the entertainment business each year. They earned $4.5 billion over the last 12 months by starring in films, playing basketball, walking the catwalk and more. But they also rose to the top by garnering influence.

Gaga took over the number one spot from Oprah who has won four out of seven times in the past seven years. Gaga made $90 million from her monster tour, has 32 million Facebook fans and 10 million Twitter followers and sold 1 million digital downloads of her recent single “Born This Way” in only five days. She also made money from MAC makeup, Monster headphones and Virgin Mobile phones she features in her videos. And this didn’t even include GagaVille yet.

Oprah managed to earn $290 million last year for the second spot and she may drop further next year with her talk show ending just recently. Justin Bieber earned $53 million in the past one year to rank third, thanks to his heaps of fans who attended his concerts, bought his music and watched Bieber 3-D documentary movie.

The others in the top ten includes U2 (4th), Elton John (5th), Tiger Woods (6th), Taylor Swift (7th), Bon Jovi (8th), Simon Cowell (9th) and Lebron James (10th).

Forbes’ Highest-Paid Actresses

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock is Forbes’ highest-paid actress for June 2009 to June 2010. Bullock earned $56 million during that period.

Reese Witherspoon is next on the list with $32 million, followed by Cameron Diaz, also with $32 million.

Fourth on the list is Jennifer Aniston with $27 million and rounding up the top 5 is Sarah Jessica Parker at $25 million.

Forbes’ The Celebrity 100 List for 2010

Oprah Winfrey has returned to the top of Forbes’ annual Celebrity 100 list after being dethroned by Angelina Jolie in 2009. Oprah was also number 1 in 2008, 2007 and 2005.

BeyoncĂ© Knowles sits at number 2 in The Celebrity 100 list as she expands her business empire beyond music, while Avatar’s director, James Cameron earns a number 3 spot after raking $2.7 billion at the box office for Avatar. Lady Gaga is next on the list after rising to fame with her outlandish outfits and appearance — making $95 million off her tour alone.

Despite his downfall, Tiger Woods stays at number 5 spot as he’s still the world’s highest-paid athlete.

Rounding up the top 10 are Britney Spears, U2, Sandra Bullock, Johnny Depp and Madonna.

Jay-Z and Beyonce Top Forbes Top-Earning Couples

Rap mogul Jay-Z and his pop diva wife Beyonce earned $122 million between June 2008 and June 2009, making them on top of Forbes’ annual Top-Earning Couples list for the second year in a row.

Harrison Ford and girlfriend Calista Flockhart are the runners-up as they earned a combined $69 million during the same period. While Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are in third place with $55 million.

Angelina JolieAngelina Jolie has landed herself on the top spot of Forbes’ Celebrity 100 List dethroning Oprah Winfrey, who had the top position for the past two years.

Angelina Jolie made $27 million last year compared to Oprah Winfrey’s $275m but her high profile and appearance in films like “Wanted” and “Kung Fu Panda” catapulted her to the top spot. Oprah Winfrey now drops to second place remains as the top earner.

Madonna, Beyonce and Tiger Woods come next at number 3, 4 and 5 respectively. Also in the top 10 are Bruce Springsteen, Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt and Kobe Bryant.
