As we all know, RealNetworks has recently introduced Scrabble by Mattel in Facebook to fight with Scrabulous, the wildly popular, unauthorized online version of the board game.
However, the game, an online version of Scrabble, is technically available only to players outside the United States and Canada since Hasbro owns the rights to Scrabble in North America, and Mattel in the rest of the world.
Since I am living outside the United States and Canada, I am able to add the Scrabble application and play it!

Scrabble by Mattel looks like the real game but online and with animation
Though aesthetically-pleasing, the game is somewhat very lagging compared to Scrabulous. Maybe it’s the heavy animation and the entire application that cause the loading time to be slow. I have no problem playing with Scrabulous.

In the "Review Games" section, you can view all your games with a real-time clock
Unlike Scrabulous, Scrabble by Mattel shows real-time clock as the game is "Live". For now, it’s still too soon to tell. But I will definitely play both the games as I like both of them.

There is a new game in town, at least for the casual gaming people. Mytopia has launched on Facebook, Bebo and MySpace with eight games (Chess, Backgammon, Sudoku, Dominoes, Bingo, Spades, Hearts, Video Poker. You can also play the games on Mytopia site as well.

Mytopia on Facebook
Come Monday, it will release the same games across the major Web and desktop widgets: iGoogle Gadgets, Apple Dashboard Widgets, Yahoo Widgets and Windows Vista Toolbar Widgets.

Play Sudoku on Mytopia
So, what are you waiting for? Come challenge me on Sudoku on Facebook.
Don’t forget to turn off pop-up blockers for your browsers though. And for optimum game play, set your browsers to open a new tab instead a new window (which you can’t resize).

Okay, this sounds weird but I have just saved an alien. So can you. There are 10 million aliens that are going to die when the meteor strike! There are 186 days left before the meteor strike! You can save one alien, it will be yours forever.
Save An Alien is actually a Facebook application created by a young startup company. When you’ve selected the one you like, you can adopt it and the alien is transported to safety in Antarctica. You can then do a few other things – download images of it, use a tool to add images of your alien into your own photos, buy a T-shirt with your alien on it, etc.

Save an alien! Millions to choose from!

My alien’s name is Hobzabub, haven’t given him a human name yet. He’s holding a cup of Starbucks coffee, LoL!
Slightly more than 13,000 aliens have been saved so far. So, what are you waiting for?

Yahoo! new social networking site that replaces Yahoo! 360 is finally being revealed as Yahoo! Mash. In order to compete with Facebook and MySpace, Yahoo has come out with Yahoo! Mash which is like a combination of Facebook, MySpace, and My Yahoo.
You can drag and drop the existing modules of Flickr RSS, Ego Boost, Common Friends, MyMashLog, Blog Module (RSS 2.0), Asteroids, Astrology, PimpMyPet, Hover, Kaleidoscope to the main column or the right column. Many more other modules are also coming up, some of them include YouTube video, World of Warcraft Armory (show off your WoW character! I love this one!), Amazon Wishlist, Current eBay Listing, Twitter Status and more!

Yahoo! Mash
Unlike Facebook and MySpace, Yahoo! Mash enables you to edit your details in real-time without having to open up another page! Unlike Facebook, it actually lets you customize the background and use CSS to style your profile. And yes, you must have a Yahoo! account to join Yahoo! Mash, though currently it’s only by invitation. However it is, we all know Yahoo! Mash is heading towards the right way, and hopefully, not like its predecessor, Yahoo! 360.
The coolest thing? You can create a profile for your friend, edit the profile for him or her too! Of course, there is a privacy control – you can set who can edit your profile, who can view your profile and post your guestbook by setting “Only You”, “Some of My Friends”, “Best Friends”, “Family”, “All Friends” and “Anyone”.
Currently, it is only by invitation. To get invited, just post a comment on this post and I will send an invite to you.
