Designers are asked how they can design products that utilize the technology while remaining meaningful. Yun Liang’s scroll cellphone takes its inspiration from how traditional Chinese paintings are unfurled.

When not in use, the display neatly rolls into the tube. All numeric key functions remain tactile running along the side of the scroll as opposed to touchscreen. This makes it possible to use without having to unroll the screen. You would only do so when accessing media and data. Awesome.

We all know how the Chinese from mainland China behaves themselves as most of us have even witnessed them in real life. Realising such behaviour is becoming a real embarrassment for China, the country’s main tourism body and the central government’s Spiritual Civilisation Committee issued guidelines this week to teach travellers how to behave when overseas.
Among the guidelines, in the list of “dos and don’ts” include:
Dos
- Speak quietly in public
- Respect queues
- Put litter in bins
- Be polite in public places
- Observe the rule of “ladies first”
- Always wear a shirt in public places
- Respect the customs of religious and ethnic minorities
Don’ts
- Spit in public places
- Litter everywhere
- Smoke in no-smoking areas
- Trample on the grass
