Kidnapped Girl Was Hidden in California Backyard for 18 Years

18 years ago, Jaycee Lee Dugard, then a 11-year-old girl was kidnapped and kept in a suburban backyard compound less than 200 miles from her original home. Her abductor, Phillip Garrido, 58 has raped her and fathered two children with her, the first when Jaycee was about 14. Those girls, now 11 and 15, also were kept hidden away in the backyard compound.

I Love California!

I love California. Not because they have Disneyland or Hollywood or the posh Beverly Hills or Orange County (O.C.). It’s because of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

California made a bold move to curb global warming by passing on Thursday the first bill in the United States to cap man-made greenhouse gas emissions, an action state leaders hope will be copied across the country. California is the first state in the country to do so and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is the man.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger frustrated by lack of action from fellow Republican President George W.Bush on reducing heat-trapping gases, teamed up with the state’s Democratic majority on the landmark bill.
