In the beginning this year, I have posted a list of movies you should not missed in 2007, now that 2007 is almost over, I realize that there are way too many movies that comes out in 2007, some of them I have completely missed out putting them in the list (with opening dates for US in bracket).
Well, for starters, you can play this very cool Spelling Bee game. All you need to do is guess the words ala “Wheel of Fortune” style. Wrong guesses will get the Honey-O-Meter go down. Quite fun!
Barry B. Benson (voiced by Jerry Seinfeld) is a young bee who has just graduated from college and unlike his pal, Adam Flayman (Matthew Broderick), Barry is not a little a bit at all excited about working one job for the rest of his life. So, a day after the tour of what to expect in the working life, instead of applying for jobs, Barry has tried to sneak out of the hive. And one of the best ways is to pretend to be a Pollen Jock.
Barry Benson, voiced by Jerry Seinfeld in The Bee Movie
Although Barry wins the case against Layton T. Montgomery (John Goodman) who represents the human because of his farms, little did Barry know what he has done has caused more harm than good to the entire world. Because of all the honey are returned to the bees, and all the bees that are kept by human in the farm are released and all products that are made from honey are withdrawn - the existing bees that used to be working can actually take a rest due to overloaded production of honey. As the bees do not need to work, all the flowers in the world wither. Even Vanessa has to close her shop as everyone’s out of flowers. The bee’s role is to transport pollen from flower to flower which play an important role in many plants’ reproductive cycles.
Therefore, in order to overturn what has already happened and save the world’s flowers, Barry has come out with a brilliant idea of transferring the flowers to be used in a parade and pollinating them to all the other flowers.
The part I like most: -
Cow: You’re a lawyer too?
Mooseblood: Ma’am, I was already a bloodsucking parasite. All I needed was a briefcase!
Overall, the movie is hilarious with abundant of original jokes, fine animation and does well in teaching the kids a good lesson on not to smack insects and about how pollination can affect the life cycle. With Jerry Seinfeld as the main actor as well as the producer and Chris Rock as one of the stars (the mosquito named Mooseblood), the movie is definitely not short of laughter. What’s more, Larry King, Oprah Winfrey and Sting also have some parts in this movie. It’s surely not a ‘B’ as I’m giving it an ‘A’!
From the company that produced Madagascar, Over the Hedge, Flushed Away and Shrek series, now comes another animated movie - this time, it’s about bees. That’s why it’s called ‘Bee Movie’ with comedian Jerry Seinfeld leading the cast.
