Automated cars are not something new. Remember David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight in the TV series Knight Rider back in 1982?
Well, the possibility of having automated driver-less car will soon become a reality especially when Google reveals that it has been testing out a fleet of automated Toyota Prius cars on its blog.
According to Google, "Our automated cars use video cameras, radar sensors and a laser range finder to “see” other traffic, as well as detailed maps (which we collect using manually driven vehicles) to navigate the road ahead. This is all made possible by Google’s data centers, which can process the enormous amounts of information gathered by our cars when mapping their terrain."
What’s your thought?
Rarely, you get to see this type of sight. A fleet of luxury cars are parading in the street of Bukit Bintang, Malaysia since this morning (Dec 12, 2009), just outside Starhill and Pavilion KL. Very likely they are filming a movie. Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, BMW and even a TD 2000 are seen.
