In 2074, the time machine is invented but it is illegal and are only used by a selected few, mostly crime syndicates who want to get rid of someone by sending them back 30 years in the past to be killed by assassins known as "loopers".

Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is a 25-year-old looper whose job is to kill hooded person sent from the future with a can’t miss weapon known as blunderbuss. The job is lucrative but there’s a catch — in order to avoid future detection, every looper is expected to kill their future self.

When Joe meets his future self, Old Joe (Bruce Willis), he misses and Old Joe manages to escape after knocking Young Joe unconscious. And this set off a manhunt, where Young Joe tries to kill Old Joe, the mafia tries to kill both Young Joe and Old Joe, and Old Joe tries to find and kill the younger version of "Rainmaker", someone believed to be an unstoppable crime lord who tries to close every loop in the future.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt uses prosthetic nose to create a resemblance of his future self played by Bruce Willis. Despite the prosthetics, Joseph Gordon-Levitt still has a very good performance and shines in the film. Bruce Willis does just as good as the older Joe while Emily Blunt’s a welcome addition to the film as she and Pierce Gagnon both add the emotional touch to the action-packed thriller.

Overall, Looper is a one-of-its-kind film that brings the audience a different kind of dimension and an immense experience. Despite similarity with a few films, in particular Twelve Monkeys, Looper is an original masterpiece which is not only ingenious and thrilling, it is mind-bending and heartfelt.

That’s nice to see Bruce Willis back in what looks to be a very successful film, seem like it’s been a while, even years since his last film.
