Tiger Woods Sues PETA for Ad Campaign

PETA is planning to put up billboards that made fun of Tiger Woods controversial sex addiction and encouraged people owning pets to control the pet population.

PETA Ad Campaign involving Tiger Woods

The billboard says: -

“Too much sex can be a bad thing for little tigers too. Help keep your cats (and dogs) out of trouble: Always spay or neuter!”

But the ad campaign has enraged the golf champion, and his attorneys have filed a suit against PETA for mocking Tiger Woods.

Virginia Fort, an activist for PETA said, “It’s a fun, tongue-in-cheek approach. We hope these billboard companies will understand.”

“The world has been transfixed on Tiger’s life after Thanksgiving. We’re putting the focus where it needs to be. We’re sure Tiger will appreciate our attempt — from a story that’s distracted the world and followed Tiger — to turn it into something positive for little tigers.”

But the advertisement campaign has been stalled for the time being. A spokeswoman from PETA said, “In light of conversations we have had with Mr. Woods’ attorneys, plans to run our billboard are on hold at this time.”

In a post apocalyptic setting, Eli (Denzel Washington) travels on foot and along the way, he kills a mutated cat for food and easily dispatches a group of bandits who try to attack him. He arrives in a shabby town runs by Carnegie (Gary Oldman). When Eli refills his canteen with water at a local bar, one of Carnegie’s henchmen try to provoke Eli and ends up death. The rest of Carnegie’s henchmen are easily wiped out by Eli until Carnegie and his men arrive. Carnegie, realizing Eli’s extraordinary fighting skill and his literacy, asks him to stay. Carnegie’s blind concubine Claudia (Jennifer Beals) gives Eli some food and water before Carnegie asks Claudia’s daughter Solara (Mila Kunis) to seduce Eli. Eli turns her down politely but offers her to share a meal with him instead. However, before they eat, he gets Solara to pray with him. The next morning, Solara prays with her mother during breakfast. Carnegie overhears them and forces Solara to reveal whether Eli was reading a book. When Carnegie realizes that Eli has a copy of the Bible he is looking for, he seeks Eli but Eli has sneaked out of his room. Carnegie attempts to kill Eli by having his henchmen shooting at him but Eli manages to avoid every shot and in retaliation, kills some of Carnegie’s men and in the process has shot Carnegie’s leg with a shotgun.

As Eli leaves, Solara manages to follow him and track him down with an intention to escape the town but Eli does not want her to follow. Solara makes a deal with Eli to reveal the location of the town’s water source if Eli lets her follow him. However, Eli traps her inside a cave and continues his journey alone. Solara manages to escape only to find herself ambushed by two bandits. Eli saves her by killing the bandits with his arrows.

Eli and Solara then meet an old couple at a strange house only to find out they kill and eat trespassers. When Eli and Solara tries to leave, Carnegie and his henchmen arrives. After a series of shooting, Eli and Solara are captured. Eli is forced to hand over the Bible to Carnegie when he threatens to kill Solara. Eli is then shot in the gut and being left alone. Solara escapes and kills some of Carnegie’s henchmen before she picks up Eli and they continue their journey west.

They reach Alcatraz where they find a group of survivors dedicated to preserving pre-war knowledge. Eli tells the guard that he has a copy of the King James version of the Bible and they are introduced to Lombardi (Malcolm McDowell). Eli dictates the Bible from his memory to Lombardi before his death and Alcatraz begins printing copies of the Bible. Carnegie is distraught to learn the Bible is in Braille and his wife refuses to read to him. Instead of staying in Alcatraz, Solara plans to return to the east wearing Eli’s uniform ala Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft.

Overall, The Book of Eli is quite adventurous and entertaining to watch although it lacks a good storyline. Somehow, just like the post-apocalyptic setting, let the movie guides you through and enjoy the moment.

My ratings: 7 out of 10.
