Michael Jackson, one of the world’s most popular and successful artists, died of cardiac arrest at the age of 50 earlier today. The pop star became a hit when he and his brothers make the headlines as Jackson 5 before Jackson went on to become a massive solo star. His album Thriller has got platinum 28 times in the U.S. and is the best-selling original album ever released.

Widely known as the King of Pop, the star’s profile has been badly damaged in the 90’s when he was accused of child sex abuse. Jackson had initially planned to play a series of dates in London, starting next month.
