Lovely By Surprise is a 2007 movie directed and written by Kirt Gunn. The movie is about the story of a blocked writer who turns to her former mentor (and ex-lover) for advice. When he advises her to kill the protagonist to strengthen the plot, she just can’t do it. The real and the fictional collide when her character escapes the story and begins showing up in the dark corners of her past. Starring Carrie Preston, Michael Chernus, Austin Pendleton, Lovely By Surprise’s DVD premiere is on June 30, 2009.
