The virtual world that Google Lively is today still has a long way to go. They made a good start with this new product, a strong point is that it is all free, free objects, free rooms, free hair and skins so many people will try out this service. This world is a good start for people who have their first experience with virtual worlds in general. It is by far not as complicated as Second Life so it might catch on with the large public. Question is what is the target group Google wants to attract with their virtual world. The cartoonish style implies they are after the age group of 14 to 24 year olds.
Lively could be described as a refreshing product and an ideal way for people to have a first experience with metaverse.
