iGoogle and Gadget Maker

As reported by Google Blogoscoped, Google Personalized Homepage will be rebranded as iGoogle and will let you build your own gadgets using wizards. The gadgets are very simple and are more like containers for things that matter to you: photos, videos, events.

“Once the gadget is created, you can invite other people to view & use the gadget, and make it publicly available for other people to view & use it.” So whatever you choose to add to a gadget will be visible to the people you invited.

The wizard helps you set up these gadgets:

  1. Framed Photo - add up to 7 photos (by rotation)
  2. GoogleGram - add up to 7 greeting messages
  3. Daily Me - add what you’re doing or what’s in your mind
  4. Free Form - add image and text freely
  5. YouTube Channel - add up to 10 videos from YouTube
  6. Personal List - publish your own top ten, or to-do list
  7. Countdown - share a countdown to your birthday party or special event

My iGoogle

Other than the Gadget Maker, you can personalize your iGoogle with your favorite comic strips (i.e. Garfield, Dilbert), Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Calendars, News, Games, Dictionaries, Wikipedia and many hundreds more.
