Heiress Paris Hilton was in trouble again. This time she is charged in Los Angeles Tuesday with driving under the influence and with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher.
Hilton`s arraignment was scheduled for Thursday but the hotel heiress is not required to be in the courtroom, People magazine reported.
The two misdemeanor charges stem from Hilton’s Sept. 7 arrest after she was stopped for ‘driving erratically’ and found to have a blood alcohol level of .08 — the minimum for a DUI arrest under California law.
Hilton later told radio host Ryan Seacrest she had not eaten all day, had one drink that evening and was probably ’speeding a little bit’ in her haste to get to a fast-food restaurant.
Hilton, 25, faces a maximum six months in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted, but an expert told People she would most likely be fined, ordered to attend DUI classes and put on probation for three years.
Hilton is currently in Germany for Oktoberfest, dressed as a St. Pauli’s girl with friend Kim Kardashian, and allegedly is not too upset about the charges.
